Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson - born Jacqueline Luesby to Chris Watson and Jacqueline Luesby, two British lawyers - was born the 8th of July, 1989 in Paris. At the age of five, she moved to Oxfordshire and enrolled at her first Dragon School. Emma was inspired to become an actor at age six. Over the course of several years she was enrolled in the Oxford branch of Stagecoach Theatre Arts part-time school. There she learned singing dance, acting and singing. As part of a school production and a Stagecoach production, Emma was as the lead role at age 10 and performed. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone (2000) the 2001 film adaptation to J.K. Rowling's bestselling British book began in 1999. Emma was discovered by agent via her Oxford teacher. After eight auditions consistently, producer David Heyman told Emma and other applicants Daniel Radcliffe and Rupert Grint that they had been cast as the three lead characters Hermione Granger Harry Potter and Ron Weasley. The film's release Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (2001) was Emma's first cinematic screen appearance. This film was 2001's highest earning film, smashing records on opening day and the very first weekend. Critics gave high praise to the film, and especially the younger actors. The well-known British newspaper The Daily Telegraph called her performance admirable. Emma's performance received nominations and won five awards later in the film.
