Alexandra Maria Lara was born in Romania. She is a Romanian/German actress. Her most famous films are Rush, Downfall Youth Without Youth Control. Alexandra was the only daughter of Romanian actor Valentin Platareu. At the age of 16she already secured a number of TV roles including the lead role in the film Downfall Youth without Youth Control. Her critically-acclaimed performance in the made-for-television film Der Tunnel paved way for many other noteworthy roles, including Adolf Hitler's secretary Traudl Junge, in the commercially and critically successful Oscar nominated war-time drama film Downfall. Other Oscar nominated film starring the diva include The Reader and Der Baader Meinhof Komplex. Alexandra worked on several notable national and international projects through the years. Some of these include the British Biographical Film Control Greek Drama film The Dust of Time French Historical Miniseries Napoleon and many others. She also remained member of the jury of the Cannes Film Festival and the Transylvania International Film Festival.
